Radio blocktimer’s house strafed in Balamban

By: Apple Ta-as May 22,2016 - 09:48 PM

Four unidentified men strafed the house of a radio blocktimer last Friday in Balamban town in western Cebu.

Senior Insp. Florendo Fajardo, Balamban police chief, said yesterday that they believed that the strafing of the house of Radyo Natin blocktimer, Luciano Obejero, is work-related.

Fajardo said that Obejero has been receiving death threats after the elections.

“Ingon niya naa kunu magsige og tawag niya sa cellphone, manghulga. Wa pod daw siya kaila, amoa siyang gipangutana kinsa pwede naglagot niya, wa pod siya’y mahatag nga pangalan (He claimed that someone kept calling him, threatening his life. When we asked who could it be, he could not give us a name),” said Fajardo.

According to the investigation, four men opened fire on the house of Fajardo at past midnight last Friday.

Witnesses told Fajardo that the armed men, who arrived in four motorcycles, wore masks.

Police recovered six empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Obejero told police that he was with his wife and his two children in the house when it was fired upon.

No one was hurt in the strafing incident.

Fajardo also said that they were still investigating the incident.
