Delos Santos to stay with Magis Eagles

JENNIFER Louise delos Santos, one of Cebu’s rising volleyball players, opted to remain with the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo De Cebu (SHS-ADC) Magis Eagles after turning down an offer to join the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The 14-year-old Delos Santos, who snagged the Best Attacker and Best Server awards in the recently concluded Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League (SGVL), said the decision to stay with the Magis Eagles was her personal choice.

“The place is very far and I don’t wanna be separated from my family yet. I also believe that I haven’t helped my team accomplish our goals yet which is to reach the nationals together or be champions in most of the tournaments,” Delos Santos said.

Delos Santos, however, clarified that she is not totally closing the door on UPHSD.

“The offer was for college and remaining of my high school years but it will be one of the choices if there will be other offers in the future,” Delos Santos said.
