OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 yesterday arrested 12 persons inside an alleged drug den in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

They seized plastic sachets containing a total of 50 grams of alleged shabu worth around P89,000 and drug paraphernalia.

Based on a report submitted to PDEA Director Arturo Cacdac, the operatives implemented a search warrant at the house of brothers Nelson and Samuel Naranja on La Guardia Street in Lahug past 2 a.m.

Nelson, who allegedly operates a drug den, was arrested, while his brother Samuel escaped. Nelson and Samuel will be facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Also to face charges are the 11 other suspects for “visiting a drug den.”

They are Melchizedek Canoy, David Leoric Casinillo, Jet John Abellar, Cristino Perater, William Yong, Dominic Guevara, Patrick Hermoso, James Bogle, Kenneth Mariano, Josef Escario and Anthony Gacad.

Meanwhile, a 39-year-old drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City Friday evening. Ritchel Singson of Sitio Ikasig, Barangay Marigondon is currently detained at the Lapu-Lapu City jail.

City Intelligence Branch Chief Mark Gifter Sucalit of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office led the buy-bust operation against Singson after learning of his illegal drug activities after almost a month of surveillance.

Seized from Singson were alleged shabu worth P150,000; P700 cash believed to be proceeds of drug sales; drug paraphernalia; and P200 marked money.
