THE UNIVERSITY of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers have named Cecil Jotojot as their new head coach for the men and boys’ volleyball teams.

He will replace former USPF mentor Jason Gabales and will handle the Panthers starting this Cesafi volleyball season which opens in August.

Gabales left USPF team to be a trainer for the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) and the CIGNAL HD Lady Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL).

Jotojot wasted no time in trying to help the team become competitive as he added four new players to the men’s lineup and seven new faces to the boys’ team.

The Baby Panthers will be parading Misamis Oriental spiking phenom Alechan Absuelo together with Samlet Booc, Cayle Juntella, Edmar Malata, Kerl Owen Mondares, Menchelle Remulta and Jan Andre Suico.

The collegiate men’s squad acquired the services of former Rizal Technological University (RTU) Blue Thunders Jeandro Lemuel Petilos, Joemarie Gesulga, Jake Hernan and Eugene Ladeza.

Jotojot hopes the new addition can help fuel the team back into the championship round after failing to make it past the semis last season.
