IT LOOKS like we’ll be seeing Sandara Park on Philippine television soon.
According to an ABS-CBN News report, the Korean pop star will be one of the judges —along with comedian Vice Ganda and singer Yeng Constantino—of ABS-CBN’s new reality talent search “Pinoy Boyband Superstar.”
It’s a dream come true for Sandara, who goes by the name Dara in South Korea as a member of the famous girl group 2NE1. In previous interviews, she expressed her desire to have a project with Vice Ganda and to become a judge of a talent search.
A video uploaded by Star Creatives’ AdProm Manager Mico del Rosario showed Sandara hinting at her upcoming stint and then doing her signature hand wave.
“This is going to be exciting. See you, Kapamilya. Mahal ko kayo!” Sandara said.
The airing date of “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” has yet to be revealed.
Sandara’s last visit to the Philippines in April was for an endorsement of a local clothing brand in the country.
In an interview then she told the press, “A, gusto ko si Vice Ganda. “Gusto ko gumawa kami ng comedy movie. Di ba bagay kami! Krung-krung din siya, e.”
To judge a talent competition was also her wish, recalling how she started her career via Star Circle Quest in 2004 where she emerged as runner-up.
“Kasi, di ba, dati sa Star Circle Quest, contestant ako? Pero ngayon matanda na ako, so gusto ko maging judge. Pero, this time, pag maging judge ako, ang sasabihin ko, ‘You’re in!’ Sa lahat ng contestant,” she quipped.
Currently, Sandara is busy working on her movie, the music drama “One Step.” The film will be released in September.
She is also preparing for 2NE1’s comeback in the K-pop scene. They’re set to release a new song this summer in Korea after member Minzy’s departure from the group.
