HUNDREDS of school bags were given to the daycare children in Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City last week.

Maribago Barangay Councilor Arvin Abing, with the help of his friends, initiated the donation after seeing that the beneficiaries have no bags. Abing said parents can also use the money intended for bags for other school needs.

“Atong paganahan ang mga bata sa una nilang pagtambong sa eskwela aron ganahan nga mo-eskwela kay sila ra ba ang umaabot natong mga lideres ug paglaum sa nasud (This is to encourage the children in their first day of class so they will continue going to school, as they are our future leaders and hope of the nation),” said Abing.

A total of 300 children from Sitios Datag, Looc, Bagumbayan, Pag-utlan and Buyong in Barangay Maribago received school bags.

The parents and the children expressed their gratitude to councilor Abing and his friends after receiving the bags.
