THE new chief of the Police Regional Office prioritized internal cleaning of the ranks and securing support from the communities, local governments and media as his agenda for eliminating criminality in Central Visayas.
Chief Supt. Noli Taliño took over the PRO-7 chief from Chief Supt. Patrocinio Comendador as part of the reorganization ordered by PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa last Friday.
Taliño acknowledged Comendador’s efforts which resulted in the deaths of suspected drug dealers Rowen Secretaria and Jeffrey Diaz.
In his speech during the turnover ceremony, Taliño warned corrupt police to quit or face sanctions.
“You better stop now. If you love your family, stop now,” he said.
Taliño said he will order the relief of police chiefs who fail in meeting their goals in fighting illegal drugs and other crimes.
Taliño was the former deputy chief of the National Capital Region’s police and former chief of the Special Action Force.
