Aquino vacates Malacañang with high satisfaction rating – SWS
Former President Benigno Aquino III ended his term with a net satisfaction rating halved compared to that when he assumed office, but it was still the highest among recent chief executives, according to a survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS).
In an SWS survey conducted from June 24 to 27, Aquino got a net satisfaction rating of a “moderate” +29 (57% satisfied, 28% dissatisfied), two percentage points higher than the “moderate” +27 he received in April.
Net satisfaction rating is the difference between the percentage of satisfied and dissatisfied.
Aquino got a “very good” +60 when in September 2010 after taking oath in June of the same year. He received his best net satisfaction rating, a “very good” +67, in August 2012, while his worst score was recorded in March 2015, at the height of the Mamasapano operation controversy that killed 44 elite policemen.
Aquino’s final satisfaction rating was the highest among recent Philippine presidents, namely Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (“poor” -17), Joseph Estrada (“neutral” +9), Fidel Ramos (“moderate” +19), and his late mother Corazon Aquino (“neutral” +17).
