A MAN was killed, while two others were arrested in two separate incidents in Cebu last Thursday.
A certain Jonas, a gun-for-hire suspect, was gunned down around 10 p.m. last Thursday in Minglanilla town.
Chief Insp. Franco Rodulf Oriol, chief of Minglanilla Police Station, said they received information that Jonas, who was under surveillance, was allegedly conducting an illegal drug trade transaction in Barangay Tulay, prompting them to move in.
Jonas allegedly pulled out his KG 9 submachine pistol and aimed it at responding policemen causing the authorities to shoot him first.
The police are still verifying the real name of the suspect as no identification card was found in his wallet. Police recovered from his possession several money transfer receipts, a medium-sized plastic bag containing suspected illegal drugs, the KG 9 submachine gun and six magazines, with 30 bullets each.
Jonas’ live-in partner, however, revealed that Jonas had two names — Domingo Empleo Jr. and Rudy Gatuangco. Jonas was a native of Bohol. He previously resided in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City and later transferred to Minglanilla with his live-in partner.
