Two drug pushers died in separate police operations in Danao City and Naga City on late Sunday evening and early Monday morning.

In Naga City, Peter Montebon died in what police described as a shootout at his home in barangay Tinaan at 10:57 pm last Sunday.

Supt. John Clark, Naga City police chief, said they were about to serve the arrest warrant to Montebon, who was listed as number 4 on their most wanted list when Montebon opened fire at them.

Montebon got hit on his chest and fell dead in his home. Recovered from Montebon’s possession was one revolver, 21 small packs of shabu that weighed 1.56 grams.

Drug paraphernalia were also recovered from Montebon’s live-in partner Lea Cabungcal. The shabu has an estimated value of P17,510. Cabungcal is temporarily detained at the Naga City police precincts and will undergo inquest proceedings Tuesday.

Montebon has a pending arrest warrant for maintaining a drug den. In Danao City, Marcos Mansueto died at the Danao Provincial Hospital after a shootout with police in Sitio Taboc, Barangay Looc at past 12 pm Monday.

PO3 Arnold Labine of the Danao City police said Mansueto sensed something amiss during a buy bust operation and fled to his house, where he refused to surrender and instead engaged in a shootout with police.

Recovered from his possession were one 357 revolver with five empty shells, two large packs, two medium packs, and one small pack of shabu that is worth P96,000.
