The STAR Taekwondo Team of coach Glenn Lava once again proved to have the best poomsae jins in Cebu as they finished as overall champions in the Smart Regional Age Group Poomsae Championships held last Sunday at Robinson’s Galleria Cebu.
The STAR team that produced the likes of star athletes Mikaela Calamba and Rinna Babanto, garnered a total of 27 medals including 15 golds, seven silvers, and five bronzes.
Finishing as first runners-up are the kids of coach Giovanni Genovesa of the Toledo TKD Team with 10 gilts, five silvers, and six bronzes in the PTA-7 organized and Smart-sponsored tournament.
The Avengers Taekwondo Center (ATC), on the other hand, landed at third overall after snaring 20 medals.
The jins of coach Avengyr Alob, who is the father of now De La Salle University Green Archer Mac-mac Alob, finished with a five-seven-eight (gold-silver-bronze) haul.
Other teams whish participated in the one-day tournament are the Philippine Air Force Team, Don Bosco Technological Center, and Xanadu Taekwondo.
