Mandaue Mayor’s Cup slated Aug. 12

EMPLOYEES of the Mandaue City Government will be strutting their sporting skills in the 47th Mayor’s Cup Sports Tournament, which will kick off on Aug. 12 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

The tournament, organized by the Mandaue City Sports Commission, is part of the city’s Charter Day celebration.

Employees from different departments of the City Hall will compete in the inter-department basketball and volleyball tournaments.

The basketball tournament will have 13 teams, while nine squads will see action in the volleyball event. A cash prize of P15,000 will be given to the champion teams in the two tournaments. Second and third placers will pocket P10,000 and P7,000, respectively.

The basketball tournament will be held at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex, while the volleyball competition will be at the Mandaue City Hall grounds.
