UC Webmasters manhandle USC Warriors in two exhibition games

By: Jonas N. Panerio July 31,2016 - 10:22 PM

A WEEK before the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball wars kick off, the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters sent a statement that they will be a team to be reckoned with as they dumped the reigning league champions University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors twice in as many days in a series of exhibition games held in Medellin and in Bogo.

First, UC thumped the Warriors, 81-72, in a game staged at the town of Medellin. The Webmasters repeated the feat 24 hours later, this time in Bogo City, where they emerged triumphant, 78-66.

UC is trying to relive its glory days after winning two Cesafi titles in 2010 and 2011 back when it was led by the now-reigning PBA MVP, June Mar Fajardo and his teammate on the San Miguel Beermen, Brian Heruela.

UC will get a chance to put on display its much-improved play when it opens the Cesafi season on August 6 against the undermanned University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars.
