PROVINCIAL Board (PB) Member Celestino “Tining” Martinez said he will comply with the dismissal order issued against him by the Ombudsman in relation to the 2004 fertilizer scam.

Although he said he still hasn’t received an official copy of the order, Martinez said his lawyers filed a petition for review before the Court of Appeals (CA) last week.

He said they heard about a coming dismissal order and they already started legal remedies.

“The order is not final. This is very old and why is it only implemented two months before the barangay election? This makes it very suspicious in nature,” he told reporters in a press conference in his office Monday morning.

Martinez said he will comply with the order and will temporarily cease his official functions until there is an action on their petition in the CA.

He sits in the PB as an ex officio member being the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) Cebu Chapter President.

He is the barangay captain of Cayang in Bogo City.

According to Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cebu Provincial Director Jerome Gonzales, they implemented the Ombudsman order in the barangay hall of Cayang last Thursday, July 28.
