ELEVEN persons were arrested by the police in separate drug operations in Metro Cebu yesterday. Suspects Ryan Lacio, 24; Joey Caparida, 27; and a 16-year-old minor, all from Barangay Upper Lamac, were arrested by Consolacion police led by Senior Insp. William Homoc during a buy-bust operation around 3 a.m. yesterday.
Police recovered from the suspects five small sachets of suspected shabu, P200 marked money and an unlicensed 9 mm pistol.
A follow-up operation was conducted against the alleged cohorts of the suspects in Sitio Lumbang, Barangay Pulpogan that led to the arrest of Jimboy Naingue, 19, who allegedly yielded four small sachets of suspected shabu and a .38 revolver. His companion, a certain Toto Padilla, managed to escape.
The team also arrested four persons having a pot session inside a shanty in Upper Lamac. Rolando Valiente, 38; Billy Ordenaria, 24; Marvin Bucod, 26; and Serge Louie Inot allegedly yielded two small sachets of suspected shabu worth around P12,000 and drug paraphernalia.
In Mandaue City, live-in parners Yolanda Ricaplaza, 38, and Alvin Rom, 33, of Gothong Road, Barangay Subangdaku, were also arrested by the police led by Subangdaku Police Chief Allan Rosario at 4:30 a.m. yesterday after packs of suspected shabu worth P20,000 were found in their possession.
In Lapu-Lapu City, a 33-year old drug suspect was also arrested by Marigondon policemen led by Senior Insp. Alcon Escosura.
