THE DALAGUETE AgriSaurs displayed the needed poise down the stretch to survive the Toledo Energy in overtime, 85-80, and clinch the second championship berth in the South Division of the 2017 Cebu Governor’s Cup Under-21 Inter-Cities/Municipalities Basketball Tournament last Saturday night at the Dalaguete Sports Complex.
Dalaguete will fight for the title against Minglanilla, which swept its quarterfinal round assignment by beating Barili in the first game, 88-68.
Minglanilla improved to 5-0 (win-loss) in the quarters, while Dalaguete climbed to 4-1.
Mark Justine Nebril paced Minglanilla with 12 points, Jiesel Tarrosa contributed 11, while Christian Castro chipped in 10.
Crispin Villacencio fired a game-high 18 points to lead Barili, which fell to 1-3.
JJ Fernandez backed Villacencio with 14 points, Lee Baynayonon donated 11 and Mike Bayaton had 10.
The championship battle in the North Division has also been set with Mandaue City taking on the Consolacion Sarok Weavers.
