USC Fine Arts magazine tackles traffic, garbage problems in Cebu
THE School of Fine Arts and Design (SAFAD) of the University of San Carlos brings into discussion pressing problems in Cebu like traffic congestion, garbage and housing in the July 2017 issue of their Lantawan magazine with the theme “Asa ta padulong?” or “What Direction are we taking?”
According to Brother Bela Lanyi, Lantawan editor-in-chief, the magazine features the different opinions of the university teachers and students regarding Cebu’s problems.
On its tenth issue, Lantawan focuses its discussion on various issues like poverty, housing, waste management, environment, water, transportation, space, urbanization, land use, and culture, arts and heritage.
In its assessment, Lantawan said these issues may have been cropped up due to the growing population in the city and the lack of implementation of land use regulation.
The magazine also highlights the third-generation condominium conceptualized by all-Cebuano talents that will rise in Cebu City.
The magazine also features a cultural map of Cebu City featuring the city’s cultural assets and infrastructures.
Copies of the magazine are already available at P200 each in all branches of National Bookstore in Metro Cebu, Casa Gorordo Bookshop, USC Bookshop, and the Archdiocesan Museum Bookshop.
The magazine is also available in National Bookstore branches in the cities of Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and General Santos.
Sixteen branches of National Bookstore in Metro Manila will also be selling copies of the issue starting first week of August.
