Reward for information on Sasing slay in the offing

MANDAUE City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said he will finance the expenses of Task Force Sasing so that the case will be resolved quickly.

He even offered a reward for whoever can give information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspects in the shooting to death of PO1 Mae Sasing

“We do not want these things happen here especially that the victim was a (member of the) police and much more a woman,” said Quisumbing in an interview with reporters.

While mum about the amount of the reward, Quisumbing assured that it would be given and that the safety of the informants would be paramount as all information will remain confidential.

Task force members are currently following possible leads as they await the results of the video footage from the CCTV cameras, and Sasings mobile phone, which were sent to the Cyber Crime Division in Manila for forensic examination and enhancement.

Supt. Bernouli Abalos, chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) will be the taskforce’s spokesperson, said Mandaue City Police Office Information Officer, Chief Insp. Mercy Villaro.

She said they expect to get an update from the Cyber Crime Division on Sunday.

Villaro said that considering that their operations have been continuous in hunting for Sasing’s killers, the suspects can still be arrested immediately because this is still considered hot pursuit operations.

“If evidence would link them from what has been captured by CCTV and Sasing’s mobile phone, then we can immediately effect the warrantless arrest,” said Villaro.

She said the two persons of interest are just around and have not been yet considered suspects pending the result of the enhanced CCTV footage.
