Ateneo de Cebu routs ANS by 70 pts in NBTC

REIGNING Cebu champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles grabbed their third straight win in emphatic fashion, routing the Abellana National School (ANS) by a whopping 70 points, 117-47, in the SM-National Basketball Training Center Cebu League on Saturday at the Mandaue City Sports and Cultural Complex.

The writing was already on the wall as early as the first where the Magis Eagles plastered ANS, 31-5, before settling for a 51-16 halftime lead.

Things got even worse for ANS in the third as Ateneo de Cebu stepped on the gas some more, and outscored them, 37-17, to head to the final canto down, 33-88.

Patrick Wilson Yu and Fil-Dutch Alex Visser each had 21 points to power Ateneo de Cebu to a perfect 3-0 win-loss record in this tournament.
Ateneo de Cebu is tied with the University of the Visayas (UV) for the best record in the league.

UV scored a victory via forfeit over the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF).

In the last game of the day’s triple-header, the University of San Carlos (USC) blew out the Sisters of Mary Boystown, 101-62.
