Argao and Catmon kept their seasons alive after surviving their respective foes in Game 2 of the division finals of the Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities and Municipalities 18-Under Volleyball Tournament 2018 on Friday night.

Catmon recovered from a sweep in Game 1 to defeat Mandaue City, 18-25, 25-20, 29-27, 25-20, in Game 2 of the Northern Division Finals at the Catmon Municipal Gym.

Argao, meanwhile, escaped with a 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21, victory over Carcar at the Secretary Cerge Remonde Cultural and Sports Complex in Argao to tie the South Division Finals at one game apiece.

The deciding Game 3 of the North Finals will be held back at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex on Monday night.

The South Finals will play its decider on Sunday at the Carcar City Sports Complex.

Both games will start at 7 p.m.

Winners of both series will meet for the overall championship of the tournament.

Mandaue swept Catmon, 25-23, 25-22, 25-19, in Game 1 to get a head start in the series last Thursday night at its home court.

Carcar also defeated Argao, 25-18, 25-15, 24-26, 22-25, 10-15, in Game 1 Wednesday night at the Carcar City Sports Complex.

After the Game 1 loss, Catmon head coach Vilma Veloso said her team was having a hard time with the first balls and had to adjust in order to stand a chance against the taller Mandaue side.
