DAVIES Paints remained unbeaten while MetroTiles and Phelps Dodge also logged wins in the Cebu Architects’ Basketball Club 2nd Corporate Cup last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.
Davies Paints upended Boysen Paints, 76-64, to hike their winning streak to three games and stay on top of the standings.
Dexsel Caandan led the team with 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The backcourt of Kimkim Rebosura and Criz Matunog had 12 markers apiece to help Davies Paints to the victory and send Boysen to its third loss in a row, spoiling Sam Kevin Parcon’s 30-point, 18-rebound effort.
In another game, MetroTiles bested Econtech, 73-62, as Darren Morandante tallied 25 points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the team to its second win in three games.
Econtech dropped to 1-2 in spite of the 25 points and nine boards of Ayi Armenion.
Phelps Dodge got their first win of the season, beating AAC LightStrong, 83-78.
Lemuel Aspacio scored 24 points while Chester Hinagdanan had 20 points and 10 rebounds to push the team into the winner’s circle after opening the season with two straight losses.
