Father stabs son to death during a birthday celebration
A birthday celebration in Minglanilla town turned bloody after the celebrant stabbed his own son to death, Sunday night.
Winefredo Buy-ot is now detained while police prepare a complaint for parricide against him for stabbing his son Clemencio, said PO2 Jefferson Base of the Minglanilla Police Station.
Base said that members of the Buy-ot family gathered in their home in Barangay Cadulawan on Sunday for the joint birthday celebration of Winefredo, 62, and his wife Felomina.
Drinking started on Sunday morning.
At around 7 p.m., Winefredo and Clemencio started to argue over something but they were immediately pacified by others who were present during the celebration.
Minutes later, a loud scream was heard from inside the Buy-ot residence.
Those who came to check what happened saw Clemencio’s already wounded body on the floor.
Wenifredo later surrendered to responding policemen.
