Councilor’s brother killed in ambush
THE lawyer brother of a Cebu City councilor and one of his escorts died on the spot while two others were critically hurt after they were ambushed in barangay Coro, Dalaguete town at past 2 p.m. today.
Lawyer Noel Archival, brother of Cebu City Councilor Nestor Archival and his escort Candido Meñoza died after being shot repeatedly by assailants while inside their vehicle.
Archival’s driver Alejandro Jaime and another escort Paolo Cortez were rushed to a hospital in Cebu City. Archival had just come from a hearing in Dumaguete early today.
Asked what cases his brother was handling, Councilor Nestor Archival said he doesn’t know. It is reported that Noel’s biggest case involves cult leader Ruben Ecleo Jr.
