Cebu City, Philippines — Former PBA guard Jerick Canada carried Batch 2004-2005 to a close 59-57 win over Batch 2016 in the Don Bosco Cup basketball tournament last weekend at the Don Bosco Technical College-Cebu gym in Labangon.
Canada, who last played for the Bulacan Kuyas in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, scored 26 points to go with six rebounds, four assists and six steals in the thrilling victory.
Left-handed sharpshooter Joirene Salcedo also added 20 points.
In other games, 1998 won over 1995, 67-53, even as 2017 defeated 2007, 51-45.
2001 also emerged with a 58-54 win over 2002 while 2006 defeated 2015, 72-67, behind the awesome performance of Jose Acha, who almost had a double-double of 38 points and nine rebounds. /bmjo
