Cebu City, Philippines — Prayboyz eked past Petra Simon, 66-65, in the Sarap Magbabad Summer League Co-Sponsored by San Miguel Beer last weekend at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
Nestlee Vergacer came up with the difference-making bucket to help Prayboyz come away with the win.
Royeth Varga led the way for Prayboyz as he had 23 points and six assists.
Paul Gabatan shone for the losing side as he collected a double-double of 10 points and 18 rebounds to go with four assists and two blocks.
In the other game, Boulevard Water Depot upended Aboitiz, 71-62.
Adrian Dy was an unstoppable force inside as he had 16 markers and 17 boards as well as four blocked shots to lead Boulevard to the victory. /bmjo
