Over 100 Olango residents stranded at Angasil Port

CEBU CITY, Philippines – More than a hundred persons, who are bound for Olango Island, have remained stranded at the Angasil Port in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.
Mayor Junard Chan visited the port this afternoon and brought lunch for the stranded passengers that included children and elderly women.
In a live interview posted on the Lapu-Lapu City TV News 1, Chan said that he already gave instructions for chairs to be brought into the Angasil port so that people there will have something to sit and sleep on.
“We will provide them ug unsay ilang gi kinahanglan,” he said.
(We will provide them (stranded passengers) with what they need.)
Chan said the city government will also be giving out snacks and dinner to the stranded passengers.
Those who do not have relatives in the city will be allowed to spend the night at the port’s terminal, he said.
However, he encouraged those with relatives in the city to spend the night with them “kay sigurado gyud ni nga dili pa sila maka larga karong gabie kay dagku kaayo ang bawd.”
