Cebu Daily News Digital, just like other companies in the media industry, got hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It had to cope with big challenges and adversities to survive. Tested to the limits, so to say. It had to adapt to the new normal, to implement changes in the way news is covered and reported, to come up with innovative ways to sustain the company and the business.

Despite the difficulties, CDND managed to turn in a credible performance. It managed to maintain its status as one of the major information and online news sources for readers in Cebu and other areas in the Visayas, as well as those based abroad. It has kept its social media assets whirring, churning out timely and relevant posts.

But the uncertain times are not over yet. As CDND and the media industry in general continue to reel from the inexorable spread of the disease, we need to get stronger, tougher, resolute. CDND’s theme “Bolder than ever” embodies that mission of doing everything we can to inform and enlighten our readers. It’s not going to be easy, but with the grace of God and the persistence and determination of the staff and management support, we can do it.

As we observe CDND’s second anniversary, I’d like to thank the staff for their hard work, commitment and professionalism. I also thank our readers and advertisers for their continued support and hope they would continue to follow us and rely on us for timely and relevant news and information.

Congratulations to the entire CDND team! Mabuhay!
