Cebu City police apprehend nearly 900 violators in first week of February
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu City cops apprehended 867 violators, 149 of whom were minors, in the first week of February in the continuous implementation of Oplan Bulabog here.
Most of the arrested individuals violated the curfew, failed to bring quarantine passes, and didn’t wear their face masks.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said that there are still quarantine violators despite constant reminders from the city cops.
Police and the Task Force Kasaligan now check interior portions of the city to ensure that protocols are properly observed.
“Naa gihapon atong madakpan kay gi-include naman nato not only sa mga public places but we include sa mga interior portions.” Parilla said.

“Oplan Bulabog” is a Cebu City Police Office program focusing on monitoring quarantine violators as a measure to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

On Saturday, February 6, city cops nabbed 151 violators with 17 minors, and by Sunday, February 7, they also arrested 62 violators, 7 minors, and 2 others for violating the liquor ban.
“Atong implementation sa liquor ban not only during the curfew. But now, even dili curfew, still implement gihapon ta og liquor ban considering na it is not allowed anymore in public places. ” Parilla stated.

Parilla said that as of February 1, they observed that there is an average of almost 120 quarantine violators per day.
Meanwhile, as for this coming Valentine’s Day, Parilla said that they will direct their personnel to remind all the inn and hotel owners on the acceptance of guests.
“They have to strictly implement [the prohibition] of all minors,” Parella said.
