Robinsons to finish road concreting before Sinulog

DUSTY and bumpy roads surrounding the mixed use development of Robinsons Land Corp. at the North Reclamation Area (NRA) will be replaced with concrete roads before next year’s Sinulog in January 2015.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he met with Fredric Go, nephew of businessman John Gokongwei, during his Manila trip last week and got the approval of his request for road improvement in the area.

“They are doing it as a Private-Public Partnership, as part of their corporate social responsibility,” Rama told a news conference yesterday.

The mixed use development project of Robinsons involves a four-hectare lot beside the burned White Gold building.

The project occupies an entire block along a portion of S. Osmeña Road, General Maxilom Avenue and a portion of J de Veyra Street.

A dusty and bumpy four lane road is located at the back of the property.

S. Osmeña Road is being rehabilitated with concrete paving by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Rama said he wanted three other roads surrounding the property concreted.
