Mandaue Health Office wants inventory on vaccinated, unvaccinated individuals
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu—The Mandaue City Health Office is encouraging barangays to do an inventory of their population to determine who are vaccinated and who are still unvaccinated.
Dr. Dominga Obenza, the city health officer, said they have already asked barangay captains to validate the data of the City Vaccination Operations Center (VOC) from their existing master listing so that they would know who are those who are unvaccinated or those who were unable to get their second dose.
“Para ma align gyud nato ang tanan, wala bay ma missed. Mangutana man gud ang uban, ‘Doc, what are you doing with the remaining pila ka percent sa population?’” said Obenza.
(So that everything will be aligned, nobody gets missed out. Some would ask ‘Doc, what are you doing with the remaining percent of the population?)
Lawyer John Eddu Ibañez, executive secretary of Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, said the inventory would also help the city determine what are the reasons of the unvaccinated on why they do not want to get the vaccine.
Ibañez said through the inventory, they can make an information education campaign targeted to this population.
Obenza said they continue to conduct Mobile Vaccination Clinic in different barangays.
Mandaue City conducts regular vaccination during weekdays at the different vaccination sites and the barangays.
Ibañez said the city will only encourage unvaccinated individuals to get inoculated.
As of February 22, based on the Cebu Vaccination Statistics data, 91 percent of the Mandaue City’s eligible population, including the 5 to 11 years old pediatric age group, have already received their first dose, while almost 84 percent are fully vaccinated.
