Trans Asia Shipping Lines, Inc. proudly shares to passengers, shippers and stakeholders the distinction of being the first and only Visayas – Mindanao shipping operator to have been granted by the government regulatory authorities full-term certifications in International Safety Management (ISM) Code, International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code and the Maritime Labor Convention (MLC), 2006. The ISM Code and ISPS Code are mandated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) while MLC, 2006 is mandated by the International Labor Organization (ILO) all aimed at transforming the shipping industry to become world-class and at par with international standards.
The compliance with the rigid and stringent requirements in external audits on ISM Code conducted by government authorities has further strengthened its commitment to safe operations of ships, protection of the marine environment and safety of the lives of its crew and passengers at sea. Trans-Asia focuses on its seafarers’ operational and emergency readiness at all times with regular drills on simulated incidents-at-sea.
Being ISPS Code compliant, Trans-Asia will always keep their utmost readiness to help ensure safe travel and carriage of cargoes, even as they further venture to say that it has two members in the management team who are Certified Security Professionals.
In its full-term certification with the MLC, 2006, Trans-Asia always considered the welfare of employees and their families as their primordial missions. They are making it their continuing resolve to afford a decent compensation and benefits program to Trans Asia Family, like the implementation of the specific provisions of MLC,2006, to maintain regular participative management-labor dialogues in its organized environment.
