Another drug den dismantled in Cebu City—PDEA-7
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Three individuals were arrested when another drug den was shut down in Barangay Duljo-Fatima here on Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2023.
Leia Alcantara, spokesperson of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7), identified the alleged drug den maintainer as Bebie Alya, 68 years old.
Alya allegedly catered to suspected drug users in Barangay Duljo-Fatima. During the operation, PDEA-7 operatives caught two alleged drug den visitors.
Alcantara identified the drug den visitors as Arnulfo Laresma, 56, and Joy Labaya, 41. Apart from these arrested individuals, around 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,000 were also seized.
Alcantara said that it took three days for the operatives to conduct the operation against Alya. However, she could not tell for now how long Alya has been engaged in this illegal drug activity.
Alya can allegedly dispose of 20 grams of ‘shabu’ to her customers in a week.
This is the second drug den that was dismantled in Cebu City in January alone. The first one happened was destroyed in January 6, 2023, in Barangay Mambaling.
Earlier, Alcantara said that if there are existing and monitored drug dens in any barangay in Cebu City, they consider these certain barangays as seriously drug affected ones.
