FIBA 3×3 Cebu Masters set Sept. 23-24
CEBU CITY, Philippines—Cebu hosts anew the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Cebu Masters on September 23 and 24, 2023, at the SM Seaside City Cebu.
A total 14 of the world’s best 3×3 teams headed by World No. 1 Serbia are coming to Cebu for the FIBA 3×3 basketball tournament.
Cebu also hosted the same tournament in 2022, with Riga of Latvia winning the title after beating Antwerp of Belgium, 21-19, in the finals.
Also competing are teams from France, Mongolia, Austria, and the Philippines, which will be manned by Manila Chooks.
The top-ranked team in the upcoming tournament is Huishan NE of Serbia comprised of Nemanja Barać, Marko Brankovic, Dejan Majstorovic, and Strahinja Stojacic.
Their most recent win was the 3×3 World Tour Manila Masters last May after they defeated China’s Futian, 21-17, in the finals.
After that, they ruled the FIBA 3×3 Utsunomiya Opener 2023 held on the same month. They beat Antwerp in the finals, 21-11.
The No. 2 ranked Amsterdam of the Netherlands, manned by Jan Driessen, Julian Jaring, Norbert Thelissen, and Worthy de Jong, will also compete in The FIBA Cebu Masters.
Joining them are the ranked No. 3 Vienna of Austria, No. 4 Miami-USA, and No. 5 Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy-Mongolia.
The sixth to 10th ranked teams in the upcoming tournament are Futian China, Paris, Sansar MMC Energy-Mongolia, Wuxi-China, and San Juan-Puerto Rico.
The rest of the competing teams are Manila Chooks, Lubao MCFASolver-Philippines, Auckland, and Taichung Hong Jia-Taiwan.
The Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3×3 World Tour Cebu Masters serves as one of the two Masters 3×3 tournament, the other being the Manila Masters.
