CEBU CITY, Philippines – Good news for passengers stranded in ports due to bad weather.

The Philippine Coast Guard in Central Visayas (PCG-7) on Monday evening, December 18, allowed several sea trips to resume after the state weather bureau lifted all storm signals in the country.

In its 5 p.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that Kabayan has further weakened into a low-pressure area while traversing central Mindanao.

As a result, all Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) have been removed in all affected areas, including Cebu.

With no TCWS in effect, PCG-7 has allowed several sea voyages to resume, said Coast Guard Commander Mark Larsen Mariano, acting station commander of PCG’s Central Cebu Station.

However, smaller sea vessels, or those weighing 250 gross tonnage and below, are still prohibited from sailing due to prevailing gale warnings, Mariano said.

Below are the areas where gale warnings remain in effect:
