A. Soriano rehab done in 4 months

By: Nestle L. Semilla December 12,2015 - 03:04 AM

The rehabilitation of A. Soriano St. in Mandaue City can be completed in three to four months instead of the scheduled 10 months.

Engr. Raymond Cataluña, Department of Public Works and Highways 7 project inspector, said a  Notice to Proceed was issued and the  contractor has started mobilization for the project.

But they have to wait for the Mandaue city government to give the green light in view of its request to delay road repair  in favor of the Mandaue-Mactan bridge repair.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes is still in South Korea on an official trip, said City Planning Officer  Florentino Nimor Jr.

With the deferment of the repair of the first Mandaue-Mactan bridge, Nimor said they may  as well implement the A. Soriano rehabilitation project.

The DPWH allotted P50 million for the concreting of 1,110 meters of A. Soriano St., from the public market up to the corner of A.C. Cortes St.

The DPWH earlier said it would  take 300 days, or 10 months, to finish the concreting project.

Cataluña said they can shorten it to three to four months.
