A BARANGAY tanod and a construction worker were wounded in separate shooting incidents in southern Cebu.

Rolando Panugaling, a 49-year-old tanod in barangay Liboron, Carcar town, was shot in the leg by a still-unidentified assailant last Friday night.

Police said Panugaling was conducting patrol on a motorcycle when he was shot.

The tanod sought help from residents, who brought him to the hospital, said PO2 Lauro Laurel, desk officer of the Carcar Police Station.

In Ronda town, construction worker Jeffrey Cañada, 33, was fetching water near their bunkhouse when he was shot in the back.

Police identified the assailant as Loiue Langita, who fled after the attack.

Personal grudges could be the motive of the attack, police said.
