FIFTEEN schools across Cebu province have been cited for outstanding performance under the Our Cebu program.

Each school was awarded a TV set and certificate during the awarding ceremonies last December 29.

They were: Aloguinsan Central School (CS), Carcar City CS, Tambongon CS in the municipality of San Remigio, Oslob National High School (NHS), Simeon Ayuda Elementary School (ES) in Lilo-an, Carmen CS, El Pardo ES in Boljoon, Juan Pamplona NHS in Tabuelan, Compostela CS, Palanas Integrated School in Ginatilan, Tudela CS, Santander CS, Asturias CS, Malbago ES in the municipality of Daanbantayan, and Camotes NHS in San Francisco.

The Our Cebu program, which has been implemented by the Cebu provincial government and the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) since 2009, aims to capacitate each of the 51 towns and cities in the province.

The local government units (LGU) are assessed based on a livable scorecard system. LGUs that excel in implementing policies, programs in governance, environment, culture and heritage, inclusiveness and competitiveness, livability, and resiliency are awarded.

Since 2009, San Francisco town in Camotes Islands has topped the scorecard results.
