Gilas bows to New Zealand, out of Olympic race

Gilas Pilipinas kissed its Rio Olympic bid goodbye after it succumbed to New Zealand, 80-89, in the Manila Olympic Qualifying Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday night.

It was the second straight loss for the Nationals as they also dropped their opening assignment against the Tony Parker-led France, 93-84, last Tuesday night.
