Drug suspect shot in the leg in Talisay

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was shot in his right leg by pursuing Talisay City police in barangay Tangke, Talisay City at past midnight Monday.

Jason Capareda, a 31-year-old resident of barangay Lipata is in the hospital pending the filing of charges against him.

PO3 Erwin Carbonquillo of the Talisay City police precinct said they received a call from a concerned citizen who said he saw an armed man riding a motorcycle heading to barangay Tangke.

Carbonquillo said a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team were dispatched the area and they spotted Capareda and a still unidentified companion riding a motorcycle.

Carbonquillo said Capareda pulled out a gun after SWAT tried to flag him down.
PO1 Marlon Añavesa fired at Capareda and hit him on the right leg causing the suspect to fall. The motorcycle driver sped away.

Taken from Capareda were one medium plastic pack and six small packs believed to contain shabu worth P59,000 and one .357 revolver.
