A 43-YEAR-OLD house painter was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Sitio Ternate, Barangay Ibabao-Estancia, Mandaue City.
The victim identified as Armando Tuico, a resident of the area, died on the spot after sustaining a gunshot wound in the head.
SPO4 Marcos Noval of the Mandaue City Police Office said Tuico bought viand from a store next to his house when he was shot dead by the unidentified assailant who immediately fled the area.
Tuico had been jailed for years on a drug case but was released three years ago, his father Ricardo Tuico said.
“He wasn’t selling shabu,” he said.
Noval said he was unsure if Tuico was in their drug watch list.
