IN its effort to alleviate poverty in Cebu, and inspired by the spirit of Blessed Alvaro del Portillo, the Kalinangan Youth Foundation Inc. (KALFI) in Cebu, a private nonstock, nonprofit foundation, is organizing its second benefit dinner-program, “Project Sampaguita 2015: Out of Poverty, Into a Deeper Richness,” on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu Ballroom.

The beneficiaries of the event are the Banilad Center for Professional Development (BCPD), a vocational training center for financially challenged but deserving young ladies; and Banilad Study Center, a project of KALFI.

The dinner will be preceded by a series of testimonials focusing on the challenges of poverty in the country, and the efforts and fruits of various sectors in alleviating poverty in Cebu.

Several distinguished figures will grace the occasion and impart their expertise and experiences.
