Two arrested at checkpoint in Sibonga town

A motorcycle driver and his backrider were arrested at a checkpoint in Barangay Bahay, Sibonga town, southern Cebu at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Gegilo Bariga, 30, of Barangay Langtad, Naga City, and his 16-year-old companion who is also from Naga City were heading north when flagged down by policemen headed by Senior Insp. Al Winston Bacal of the Regional Public Safety Company.

PO3 Arnold Frenal of Sibonga police station said Bariga yielded a .45 pistol loaded with five bullets tucked in his waist during frisking.

They were held at the Sibonga police station for questioning.
