Mondo, Powerfloor, Liquid Tile log wins in Davies Paints Cup
MONDO, Powerfloor and Liquid Tile all emerged victorious at the start of the 2018 Davies Paints Cup last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.
Mondo overcame a spirited challenge from Sun & Rain to win, 67-64.
Bong Gabison split his charities while Jun Villacorta made a transition layup in the waning seconds to give Mondo the opening day win.
Justin Aspacio led the team with 15 points while Villacorta and Gabison had 12 points each, the latter also adding eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Powerfloor defeated Megacryl, 64-60, as former Cesafi All-Star Jose Pono piled on 20 points and seven boards.
Ayi Armenion helped out with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Liquid Tile also won over Bio-Fresh, 84-74 as Michael Cinco and Ralph Catugas took turns burning the defense, the former putting up 28 points and the latter ending up with 26 to carry Liquid Tile to the victory.
