A 39-year-old man, who was believed under the influence of drugs, was arrested after he caused a commotion at home and locked himself up with his mother in barangay Tisa, Cebu City yesterday morning.

Operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) had to enter through the back door to rescue the woman after  family members called for help.

Oscar Enrique Allonar did not resist arrest when police SWAT members surprised him.

Police said the man had a history of drug use and had gone through drug rehabilitation five times.

Before the commotion, Allonar had a heated argument with his older brother Rey who confronted  him with his observations that Oscar had spent the whole night sniffing shabu.
An angry Oscar pushed  the household helper and Rey outside the house, then locked himself in with their mother Virgie, who is in her 70s.

The mother was able to secure herself by staying in a separate room and locking the door, said Chief Insp. Arthur dela Rosa, chief of the Punta Princesa Police Station.

“The mother noticed the strange behaviour of her son so she hid inside a separate room,” said dela Rosa.

The police chief said Oscar didn’t want his mother to leave his side.

His older brother then called the police, who brought SWAT team to respond to the domestic trouble.

Police said Oscar could  be charged with  alarm and scandal.

However, Oscar’s  mother indicated that she was not interested in filing a complaint.
