INTEGRATED Cycling Federation of the Philippines (Philcycling) Chairman Bert Lina, Philcycling president Bambol Tolentino and the rest of the board members of the country’s governing body for cycling will be in Danao City today to attend a special board meeting at 7 p.m.

Danao City’s Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, an accredited Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Commissaire, said in a meeting yesterday that Lina, also the Air 21 CEO, and Tolentino, a Tagaytay Representative, will be heading the meeting aimed towards resolving the internal conflicts that plagued Philcycling last year.

“Gubot man gud kaayo last year kay tungod adto’ng nagpa try-outs ang Philcycling para national team and then gi hold pud ang Ormoc Moutainbike Championship, which resulted to a national champion in Ormoc who was not part of the national team,” said Rodriguez. “We will try to resolve the issue nga dili na ma usab ang nahitabo last year,” he added.

“Also, we invited Chairman Lina and Philcycling president Tolentino to witness our UCI-accredited race here in Danao City kay what we really lack in the Philippines are international competitions like this,” said Rodriguez, referring to today’s 2015 Asean MTB Cup in Barangay Manlayag Patag participated in by more than 80 riders from eight Asian countries.

“During the meeting, we will also formulate a calendar of events for this year for our national team riders. These events might be national or international races,” said Rodriguez.
