In barangay Cantao-an, Naga City,  an assailant  shot and wounded Edito Sasan, 55, in the neck.

Sasan was heading home on his motorcycle when another motorcycle with two men drove alongside him.  The backrider  pulled out a gun and shot fired. The  assailants fled after they saw Sasan crash.

Sasan, who was seriously wounded, was rushed to the hospital, said PO3 Ken Cabrera, Naga desk officer, said.

Police recovered a spent shell of a .38 caliber revolver at the crime scene.

In barangay Colon, Naga City on the same day,  two motorcycle-riding robbers held up a driver of a truck delivering Pepsi products in the city and fled with P6,000 cash, the driver’s collection for the day.

Rico Tones, 29, told police that he was unloading cases of softdrinks from his truck when two men riding a black Honda XRM motorcycle without plates stopped near him. The backrider  pointed a gun at him and declared a holdup.

Tones said the gunman grabbed his slingbag which contained the cash, and  fled toward Minglanilla town.

Police conducted hot-pursuit operations but failed to arrest the robbers.

Last Thursday evening, in barangay Estaca, Compostela town, a 28-year-old school teacher of the English International School (EIS) lost his laptop to an unidentified man riding a motorcycle.

Roland Jopia told police that while he and his co-teachers were waiting for a ride home, a man riding a motorcycle with plate number 7L-2001 stopped in front of him, pointed a gun at him and declared a holdup.

The man then grabbed his bag containing the laptop and fled toward Liloan town.
