Enhancing corporate communications, leadership skills with Toastmasters

TOASTMASTERS International President – Elect Mike Storkey, DTM recently visited Cebu to spread the word on the benefits of creating Toastmasters clubs within communities and private institutions.

In a recent press conference organized by Cebu City Marriott Hotel, the Australian national spoke of the toastmasters’ program that have helped over three hundred thousand people in improving their ability to communicate and lead effectively.
Joining him as panelist was Past International President (PIP) Mr. Johnny Pawe Uy, DTM, a Cebuano who once spearheaded the direction of this worldwide learning institution.

District 75’s District Director Aristides Archie, DTM added that currently the Philippines is home to about 140 clubs spread across the three major islands of the country that are either public or managed by private institutions such as those of Aboitiz, Ayala, Lexmark, San Miguel, and many others. At present, there are about 6,000 individuals who are under the training. One of the many is District Convention Chair, Benzon Lim, DTM who is an engineer by profession.
