Council drops ‘Honorable’ title in official communication

THE Mandaue City Council approved a resolution dropping the title “Honorable” and replacing it with “Councilor” in all official communications, events or materials.

The resolution authored by Councilor Carmelino Del Mar Jr. is intended to encourage less ceremonial communications and shun traditions.

“Honorable” is the honorific title used in addressing City Councilors in all official communication, events or materials.
