AFTER BEING booted out in the semifinal round of the 14-Under division, Cebuana junior netter Tiffany Claire Nocos bounced back and won the 12-Under title after defeating Khryshanna Brazal, 6-4, 6-4, in the finals of the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) Olivarez Cup yesterday at the Olivarez Sports Center.

Going into their finals match with Brazal, Nocos, the multi-titled netter from Lapu-Lapu City, was defeated by eventual champion Macie Carlos, 6-1, 6-0, in the semifinals of the 14-Under division.

Nocos used her loss as a motivation and utilized a combination of crisp forehands and sizzling backhands to defeat Brazal and come away with the crown.

However, some Cebu bets were not as lucky as Bogo City’s Jan Godfrey Seno suffered a heartbreaking finals loss to Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) No. 2 Jose Maria Pague, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5, and Chad Connor Cuizon bowed to Tenneille Madis, 5-3, 2-4, 4-2, in the 10-unisex semifinals.
