A MAN was arrested yesterday dawn by Consolacion police after he was caught in possession of alleged shabu.

Josephus Tapayan, of Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, northern Cebu, was detained at the Consolacion Police Station for allegedly bringing three medium-sized packs of suspected shabu.

Chief Insp. Wilson Abot, Chief of Consolacion Police Station, said they received a call from a concerned citizen informing them about the presence of a man acting suspiciously at a subdivision in Purok 8, Barangay Nangka, Consolacion.

Police responded immediately and spotted Tapayan in the area. Upon frisking Tapayan, police found in his possession three medium-sized packs of suspected shabu.

Abot estimated the illegal substance’s worth at P100,000 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board value.

Abot coordinated with the Cebu Provincial Police Office to check if Tapayan has links with his townmate Alvaro “Barok” Alvaro, the suspected No. 1 drug lord in Cebu province who surrendered in Bohol last June 21.
